HumanTrafficking Meeting

Meeting this Sunday evening, Feb 11th, at 5:30 PM at the church building to continue to pray about, discuss, and plan the event we are having April 27-29 regarding Human Traffiking and Sex Slavery.

Please bring any new info that you have found over the past month, new ideas as to where we go from here, and updates from any of the action items we had from last time. If you weren't there at our last meeting, feel free to come this week.

Dakota Darling CD Release

Dakota Darling has their cd release show Friday night at The Brewery. The show starts at 9pm and there will be 4 bands playing. Dakota should go on around 10pm but come on out to support the other bands if you can. (Dakota Darling is a music project started by Ben and Zack - guys who regularly play at Visio Dei and bring a lot to our church) Seriously, their music is killer and we'd love to bring them as much support as we can.

Adventures in Africa

As he mentioned last Sunday, Jason is headed to Africa. He left last night and is spending the next fourteen days in and around Nairobi, Kenya serving and building relationships with people our community can serve in the future.

Please pray for him. Pray for safe travel. Pray that his trip will lead him to establishing great relationships. Pray that his trip will not lead him into a wrestling match with a lion.

We have decided to cancel the "The 9" for tomorrow due to adverse weather. We are currently planning on "The 11" running as planned with full childrens ministry. We will make a judgement in the morning for any changes. Either way - Please drive safely!

Salvation Army - Food Drive

For the month of August we are partnering with the Salvation Army to help them with their food supply. There is a barrel at our building and we want to fill it up for them. Please bring your canned goods and non perishables on Sunday if you are interested in helping.

An Update on Diana...

As many of you know, Jason's wife Diana was admitted to the hospital yesterday because she was in pre-term labor with their twins at 27 weeks. Things went well today, with the contractions slowing down and her not dilating any further. Tonight, however, she started to feel the labor pains, which she hadn't to this point, which may be a sign of the process intensifying. Please continue to pray that the contractions lessen in intensity and frequency and pray for everyone's health and peace of mind.

So they made it through the night and the contractions have been less intense and very sporadic, which is good. So everything's kind of status quo right now. Good job. Keep praying...

In other news, another couple experiencing close to the same thing, only at 33 weeks, not 27, Leslie and Anson Clark, got to go home today. Apparently things are stable enough that they are going to let Leslie wait it out on bedrest at her house. More good news!
